 I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity I had to intern at Hewlett-Packard (HP) throughout 2011. That internship laid the foundation for an amazing four-year journey with the company (2012-2016). The experiences and mentorship I gained during that time were invaluable, shaping my career and helping me grow both professionally and personally. Thank you, HP!

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced schools to close in early 2020, STEM World, like many other educational institutions, faced the challenge of transitioning to online learning. This presented unique hurdles for STEM education, which traditionally relies heavily on hands-on activities and project-based learning. In this post, I'll share how we overcame these challenges and created engaging online STEM experiences for K-12 students. How do you make the establishment of the U.S. government and the balance of power engaging for 11th graders? Enter the Power Wheel ! This dynamic activity, designed for my 11th-grade U.S. history class, brings the Early Republic to life. Instead of passively absorbing information, students become active participants in exploring landmark Supreme Court cases like Marbury v. Madison , McCulloch v. Maryland , and Gibbons v. Ogden . My experiences in classrooms across China have illuminated the powerful interplay of storytelling, gamification, and immersive experiences. Rethinking Repetition: Drilling, often utilizing techniques like "practice, present, produce" or "I do, we do, you do," is a common pedagogical tool. As a designer passionate about fostering collaborative experiences, I conceived and designed the ACT Symposium to revolutionize how creative professionals connect and innovate. ACT, which stands for Affecting Change Today, brings together designers, architects, and other creatives to explore new approaches to collaborative design within the meetings and events industry. From 300 Ideas to One Powerful Solution: The symposium centered around a design challenge: creating a visual identity for ACT itself. Over 300 logo concepts were generated, sparking a dynamic process of iteration and refinement. Through collaborative workshops and feedback sessions facilitated by my design, these ideas were distilled down to 100, then 10, and finally, a single, impactful logo emerged. But thanks to technology, mastering complex melodies is now more accessible than ever. I recently tackled Linkin Park's "In the End," a Level 6-7 piano piece, using digital tools to accelerate my learning. Here's my approach: Part I: Building a Foundation Active Listening: I started by carefully listening to the melody, isolating the left and right channels to identify the core notes and rhythmic patterns. Gradual Progression: I learned the song one hand at a time, focusing on familiarizing myself with the notes, finger placements, and keyboard geography.
